The addition of Ticketfly co-founder and President of Eventbrite’s music division further solidifies company’s commitment to the independent live music scene

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — February 7, 2018 — Eventbrite, the world’s leading ticketing and event technology platform, today announced the appointment of Andrew Dreskin to its board of directors. Dreskin will continue in his current role as President of Eventbrite’s music division, which he has held since the company’s acquisition of Ticketfly last year.

Dreskin brings over 25 years of music industry experience, and a storied history of creating successful music technology platforms, to the Eventbrite board. In 2008, he co-founded Ticketfly, a music-focused ticketing and technology company, which was acquired by Pandora in 2015. Prior to that he co-founded TicketWeb, the first company to sell event tickets online, which was acquired by Ticketmaster in 2000. After the sale of TicketWeb, Dreskin went back to his concert promotion roots, spending a number of years producing large-scale music festivals on the east coast of the U.S., including the Virgin Mobile Festivals.

“Andrew’s deep roots in both music and ticketing have already made him a great addition to our executive team, and I’m thrilled to welcome him to the board of directors,” said Julia Hartz, co-founder and CEO of Eventbrite. “His appointment further demonstrates our commitment to live music, and accelerates our efforts to address the unique challenges faced by independent promoters and venues today.”

“It’s an honor to be appointed to Eventbrite’s board of directors. Eventbrite is a fantastic company with great leadership, and a strong board,” said Dreskin. “Not only am I excited to be leading Eventbrite’s music division, which is a large and important part of our business, but also to be part of the team guiding the future of the company.”

Today, Eventbrite is the largest ticketing platform by number of events and creators, processing more than 3 million tickets per week in 2017. The company partners with around 2,000 of the top independent live music venues and promoters in North America.
